Hendrix 'Sex Tape' - Official Statement by the Jimi Hendrix Foundation - 05/01/2008

On behalf of both the Jimi Hendrix Foundation and Brave New World, I want to address the despicable news in regards to the Jimi Hendrix “sex tape.” Regardless of the tape’s authenticity, it is obvious that this is an intentional means to profit off of the exploitation of the greatest musician of our time. This by no means is a reflection of the contribution he’s given to us all through his talents and therefore we will aggressively pursue any and every legal course of action to protect the integrity of his legacy.

Wayne and Beth Clare's Rock 'n Roll Legends PT Cruiser has been racing across the States to car shows in order to help spread the word of our Music for Life Program and promoting musical development for children!
This hot Cruiser sports incredibly airbrushed portraits or 14 legendary artists: Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Jerry Garcia, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana, Diana Ross, Jim Morrison, and an incredible interpretation of the Beatles Abbey Road album cover. This incredible airbrush art was created by Steve Fernandez.
Wayne has been graciously helping the Jimi Hendrix Foundation since the mid-summer, and his work is greatly appreciated.

A Letter From the CEO - 06/11/2007
This planet has become a dangerous harsh and difficult place for the poor, the powerless, and especially for children and young people.
Children and young people all over the world are targeted by, propaganda, war, environmental disasters, and excesses of religious intolerance. When they should be taught, and allowed to grow up with the wonderment of dreams, charity, and love for their fellow mankind. The JIMI HENDRIX FOUNDATION is saddened by these current events, and wants to do something to change the course.
We are asking all of Jimi's fans from around the world to join us in a campaign to offer a different direction, through music, help, compassion, understanding, and love. We think that we can make a difference.
We know we have fans that love JIMI HENDRIX in: Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, Australia, and, of course, the Americas.
We are PLEADING for DONATIONS to help us with our MUSIC FOR LIFE, STEM CELL RESEARCH, and other HELP PROGRAMS on an individual basis.

The JIMI HENDRIX FOUNDATION is happy to present the well-known, British artist Mark Eurich as our newest friend!
Mark, has been creating in the realm of the raging, rock artist with inspirations from Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, and of course JIMI HENDRIX. Mark, is currently on display at Gibson's GuitarTown London event that annually invites local artists of all kinds to display their work.
Mark's 10-foot guitar will turn heads no doubt!
Mark has teamed up with us to help in any way he can, and in the fall we will be making his stunning JIMI HENDRIX prints available to you - than fans! 100% of the proceeds will go towards our Music For Life Program. |
Music For Life - Salaam Shalom - SUCCESS!!! - 05/15/2007
The Jimi Hendrix/James Marshall Hendrix Foundation is honoured to have been contacted by Shepha from the Salaam Shalom Education Foundation.
This amazing group is bringing Palestinian and Israeli teens together to play music with the purpose of building lasting bonds of peace. This program has proved to be extremely successful and is only lacking resources to expand. Currently, their 20-30 students share two aging, acoustic guitars that must be patiently shared.
Through the hard work of board member Steve Vosburg and a gracious donation from Fender Guitars, the Foundation was able to send 36 brand new guitars to Israel to help the Salaam Shalom Education Foundation!
We'd like to say thank you to both Fender Guitars and our very own Steve Vosburg!

Music For Life Program - Randy Hansen to Manage - 03/03/2007

Recently, our Music For Life program received an enormous boost when it found out it would be headed by the legendary Randy Hansen.
The James Marshall Hendrix Foundation is establishing a program to provide new musical instruments to children who have an interest in learning to play, and who could neither afford an instrument, nor lessons.

The James Marshall Hendrix Foundation, and the man at the helm of it all, Mr. Jimmy Williams, will soon present the first online comic of "Captain Strata." Sure to be a classic cult comic hero, the idea for Captain Strata emerged from the Black Gold tapes.
According to Tony Brown's online article, "Black Gold was the title for a suite of songs Jimi had composed for an idea he had worked on to compliment a film of a cartoon character of the same name. It's really unknown when Jimi first developed these ideas, but he certainly drew on his childhood memories of watching Mighty Mouse." Jimmy Williams affirms that Hendrix was "totally enamoured with Mighty Mouse." And so, the character, named after Hendrix' guitar, evolved.

Recently, The Jimi Hendrix Foundation had the privilege of meeting Dr. David T. Harris who has committed a significant amount of his time and life to the study of stem cells and their role in treating people with chronic diseases. He patiently explained to us the importance of stem cells and how they can be used ethically to treat people with chronic and debilitating conditions. These conditions affect many people in the world, including many in our own Renton, Washington, community.
